Caramel Apple Recipe
Caramel Sauce for Caramel Apples
1 cup salted butter
2 cups light brown sugar
1 cup corn syrup
14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
PREP YOUR APPLES. Prepare the apples by washing the well to get any waxy residue off or buy apples from a local farm without the wax coating. Dry completely. We prefer to pre-slice.
Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir in the brown sugar, corn syrup and sweetened condensed milk. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until the temperature reaches 235-240 (soft ball stage). About 14 minutes.
Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the vanilla.
Your caramel is ready for dipping or pouring. You can make the caramel in advance and reheat, or pour the hot caramel into a slow cooker to keep warm for your caramel apple bar.
